FoodPlug Food Safety and Allergen Notice

Last updated: July 23, 2026

FoodPlug connects Customers with independent food Vendors. The Vendor identified on the storefront and at checkout prepares, packages, sells, and fulfils its products.

Important allergy warning

Ingredient and allergen information is supplied by the Vendor.

Food may be prepared, stored, or packaged in facilities where common allergens are handled. Cross-contact may occur even where an allergen is not intentionally included.

FoodPlug does not guarantee that any product is free from allergens or suitable for a particular medical, religious, cultural, or dietary requirement.

Before ordering

If you have an allergy, intolerance, medical condition, or strict dietary requirement:

  • Read the full product description.
  • Review ingredient and allergen information.
  • Contact the Vendor directly before ordering.
  • Ask about shared equipment, surfaces, oils, utensils, storage, and packaging.
  • Do not rely solely on labels such as “vegan,” “gluten-free,” “nut-free,” “halal,” or similar shorthand.
  • Do not order where the Vendor cannot provide information sufficient for your needs.

For severe allergies, consider purchasing only from a Vendor whose processes you have independently assessed as suitable.

Vendor responsibility

Vendors are responsible for:

  • Safe preparation and handling.
  • Lawful operation and required permits.
  • Accurate ingredient and allergen information.
  • Cross-contact warnings.
  • Proper packaging and temperature control.
  • Staff training.
  • Product recalls and safety reporting.
  • Compliance with applicable food and public-health requirements.

Receiving food

At pickup or delivery:

  • Check that packaging is intact.
  • Confirm the Order appears correct.
  • Refrigerate or freeze products promptly where required.
  • Follow reheating, cooking, storage, and consumption instructions.
  • Do not consume food that smells, looks, or appears unsafe.
  • Do not leave perishable food at unsafe temperatures.

Reporting a safety concern

Stop consuming the product and seek appropriate medical attention where necessary.

Report the concern promptly to FoodPlug and the Vendor. Include the Order number, product, photographs, packaging or label details, and relevant symptoms where you are comfortable doing so.

Serious foodborne illness, contamination, or regulatory concerns should also be reported to the appropriate local or provincial health authority.

Recalls

If FoodPlug or a Vendor contacts you about a recall or safety incident, follow the provided disposal, return, or medical guidance.

FoodPlug may use Order contact information to notify affected Customers.
